Saya Tourist Sejati Kota Tokyo pt.3

*throwback post*

Hari tu saya dah cerita pasal how to search for hotel in Tokyo kan? Today, lemme share with you guys pasal what have I experienced with the hotels sepanjang 3 tahun pegi Jepun.

Tapi, saya tak kata lah pengalaman saya ni bagus sangat. Sebab saya bukan duduk sana sepanjang tahun. Pergi cuti jeeee. 2 minggu je every time puuuuunnn!

Kalau cakap pasal Hotel in Tokyo, mesti semua dah gambarkan tidur atas futon kan? Or a very small room yang nak letak beg pun tak muat kan? Kan? Kan?

You are not wrong.

Kalau dekat Malaysia ni, hotel paling budget pun still ada katil and attached bathroom. But in Japan, no. There are no katil and no attached bathroom. Tidur atas futon, berkarpetkan tatami mat. Toilet? Shower? Luar bilik, ok! If nak ada attach bathroom, harga mahal sikit la ye.

And oh yeah, the standard bantal dalam budget hotel ni selalunya bantal kecik berisi beans or beras ok. Bukan bantal biasa fluffy macam dekat sini. Kalau keras pun still besar boleh pusing2 kepala nak adjust tidur. But not in Tokyo. Bantal mereka kecik.

Nampak tu bantal tu? Bantal gitu la. Keras but comfortable for me lah. I dunno you. ;p btw gambar saya cilok entah sape2 punya. I pinjam sat ok.

Meh nak cerita pasal Aizuya Inn. Tempat tinggal saya masa first time datang Jepun tiga tahun lepas.

Aizuya Inn ni situated dekat Taito-ku. Area Arakawa river. Around 15 to 20 minutes from Asakusa by foot. The nearest train station is Minami-senju 駅. From the station, nak kena jalan around 10 minutes to get to the hotel.

Masa first time dulu, memang booking through Hostelworld.com. Me and my friend booked two bed. Tidur dorm room sebab pikir we won't spend so much time dalam bilik pun. Nak buat tidur je kan? We regret a bit. Sikit. Sikit je la.

Why?

Sebab dorm room tu dekat tingkat paling atas. On the 4th floor. No lift. You go figure la why I regret booking the dorm room. Haha

Anyway, what I love about hiring a room dekat budget hotel ialah bila boleh email casually to them informing about our booking and all. I always took flight hari selasa pukul 2pm so sampai Jepun memang malam. Selalunya will reach hotel around midnight. So every time pun akan email to the hotel about my ETA.

But apa yang buat saya sakit hati dengan Aizuya Inn ni ialah they didn't tell me yang ada penalty charges if datang check in after midnight. Plus, when I told the guy yang jaga receptionist that night yang I had already mail them saying yang I'm gonna arrived very late and you never mention about the penalty, dia still wanna charge me.

Masa tu malas nak marah2. Dah penat ok. Dengan sesat semua lagi malam tu. Mamat mat saleh handsome yang jaga reception tu pun dah tak nampak handsome. Nampak macam nak kene bagi kaki sepak terajang je. Nasib baik penat weeeeh.

By the way, hotel ni memang kenot smoke dekat dalam. So if nak smoke, kena lepak luar bangunan and also nasib saya baik sebab on the 4th floor ada balcony yang besar gedabak. So I don't need to turun bawah and climb back semata sebab nak smoke in the middle of the night.

Diorang pun ada vending machine sendiri dekat lobby. Also free drinks. English newspaper pun ada.

Tapi tu lah. Duduk tempat macam ni memang ada pros and cons dia kan?

Dekat Aizuya Inn ni pros dia;

1. Murah. Sangat affordable.

2. English speaking staff. Yang menyewa pun kebanyakkan nye english speaker gak. So there are no lost in translation here.

3. Toilet with bidet. Sebab ini penting.

4. Ada free nescafe 3 in 1 dekat free drinks counter. Sebab ramai Malaysian datang situ, so ada yang bagi je lebihan stok dekat this hotel.

And pros pun habis. The cons;

1. Ada shower je. Tiada bath seperti di dalam dorama. So kenot verangan mandi dalam bath tub.

2. Kitchen kotor sangaaaaaaaaaaaaat! The microwave macam setahun tak basuh. The fridge? Homagah. I kenot. The smell is uuuugghhh!

3. Toilet and shower room tak clean sangat.

4. Some tenant are so loud. Sebab foreigners from different country kan? So culture pun lain. I think some of them tak pandai nak cope dengan budaya asia kot.

5. Some foreigners are rude.

6. Tak boleh buat session mari bercakap di dalam bahasa Jepun.

But overall, this hotel is very nice. To those yang need this kind of place, saya memang recommend hotel ni for you to try. Especially to those yang kurang bercakap nihongo.

Ok. Kemudian kita ada Hotel New Azuma.

Hotel ni honestly very budget. Old skool sikit. Kecik je. Tak semodern Aizuya Inn. Very Japanese style. Dari luar, you won't expect pun it's a Hotel. Sebab it looks like an old apartment. Pernah tengok tak cerita Jepun where freeter duduk macam dekat share house? Haa..lebih kurang la.

Hotel ni ada 4 tingkat. Every tingkat ada toilet. But only the 3rd floor untuk female. All the room in 3rd floor pun untuk female. The rest untuk lelaki. But kadang2 if hotel penuh, the management terpaksa jugak place male tenant dekat female punya floor. But meh, dekat Jepun. So sifat risau itu kurang sikit.

And like I've told you previously, rooms dekat sini memang cuma ada single room sahaja. If nak juga duduk berdua, you can. Just bagitau the management. They will provide 2 futons in the room. But yang tak best nye, you still have to pay for 2 rooms. Sebab tu management tak encourage to share the room.

Anyway, dekat sini, ada lounge. Tempat tengok TV and smoke. Yes. You can smoke in the hotel. Japanese sangat kan? Dekat lounge ni pun ada 2 desktop computer for you to use. The management ada tulis situ yang lounge tu open sampai midnight je. But truth is, ada je tenant yang turun 2.00 pagi nak check email. Or kadang2 like me, after 12am pun still dekat lounge duk puffing lagi.

Also, hotel ni pun ada free drinks macam Aizuya Inn. Siap ada water dispenser bagi free green tea lagi. My favorite. Memang hari2 duk minum green tea je kerja sambil puffing. Tu nampak dalam gambar tu ada cawan kecik? Green tea la isi dia. Hehehe.

Haa tu la water dispenser yang dikhabar kan tadi. Got cold drinks, hot drinks, air suam2 kuku dengan green tea. Best kan? Lepas tu dalam basket kat tepi tu ade segala paket 3in1 yang tenant sedekahkan dekat hotel ni. Pastu lepas minum tu sila basuh sendiri ye. Takde orang gaji di sini. Tq.

Oh btw, tingkat bawah ni tiada toilet ye. Toilet semua dekat atas. Dekat bawah ni ada bilik mandi je. Dua shower room, satu bath. My favorite haruslah mandi dekat bath. Sebab ada bath tub. Lepas tu boleh mandi shower sambil duduk atas bangku. Berangan macam mandi dekat onsen.

 Laluan masuk ke bilik mandi. The first door tu shower room. The second one yang pintu terbuka tu, bath.

Ini keadaan dalam bath. Ada space for tukar baju semua. And then baru masuk dalam bath.

 Sekonon je kata open form 5pm to 10pm. Ada je yang mandi after and before time stated.

Inilah keadaan my favorite bath. Oh saya rindu nak mandi ala japanese.

Sebelah Bath and Shower room ada Kitchen and laundry. Laundry itu adalah penyelamat saya. While the kitchen, saya tak pernah guna. Walaupun semua ingredient siap. Dengan beras, garam, gula, soy sauce la. Lepas tu periuk, frying pan, segala gala keperluan lah. Semua siap!

But we prefer makan dekat luar. Lagi puas. Apa barang pergi Jepun masak sendiri oi!

Lulz.

Both washing machine and dryer are coin operated. Both 100¥ for half an hour. Macam washing machine tu memang cukup la. But tak cukup for dryer. Sebab you will need at least an hour untuk semua baju yang dibasuh itu kering. Kalau sehelai dua tu memang la setengah jam tu cukup. Tapi kalau jenis yang macam saya, baju stock seminggu? Mane cukup!

Oh lagi satu. Semua hotel dekat tokyo or anywhere there memang ada system sendiri bila buang sampah. Most places that I went memang akan ada 3 jenis dustbin. Satu untuk plastic bottle sahaja. Satu pulak untuk kaca, kayu mende semua. And the other one sampah2 yang lain2. Selalunya dekat tempat2 awam they wrote gini; For Combustible and For incombustible and Plastic Bottles. Japanese memang suka guna perkataan English yang susah.

Tak faham saya.

Padahal boleh je kot guna perkataan yang senang faham like flammable and inflammable. I mean who uses combustible?

Ok now meh I list the pros and cons living here. The pros;

1. It's cheap. Per night around RM 94.00 je. And if you plan of staying more than 7 nights, you can get a discount. Selalunya you get a day FOC.

2. Friendly receptionist. Bagitau je apa you nak or anything you wanna ask, definitely will help you. Selagi boleh. Serious. Tak tipu.

3. Bilik untuk sorang. You got all the privacy you can have.

4. TV dalam bilik. Hoyeah!

5. Heater dalam bilik also. You'll be needing this. Especially towards the end of Autumn and Winter.

6. Friendly tenant. Duduk lepak dekat lounge boleh make friends dengan other tenant yang mostly are japanese. Hehehehehee

The cons;

1. The place looks like a motel.

2. There's rumah untuk homeless ojiichan next door. So ramai ojiichan lepak dekat luar hotel giving you that uncomfortable look.

3. Other tenant can be annoyingly friendly. Kadang2 tu over sampai tahap ngorat diorang tu I wanna bagi kaki.

4. Nobody actually speaks English here.

So there you have it. Ini macam post review untuk Aizuya Inn and Hotel New Azuma pun ada gak. Ehehehehehe. But between those two, saya paling comfortable duduk dekat Hotel New Azuma. Because it feels like home.

Oh! And lagi satu. Both hotel ada curfew ya. Curfew at midnight. And bukannya tak boleh balik lambat. Boleh. But you have to tell the management before hand lah. If dekat Aizuya Inn, they will give you the front door key with a deposit of 1000¥. Kalau dekat Azuma pula, just bagitau the receptionist. They will wait for you until you reach the hotel.

Ok. So saya rasa entri ni saya end kan sampai sini je.

Panjang sangat dah ni.

Next time saya sambung lagi story.

Okbye!
